Who is Alexis?
Hello! Iām a dedicated child and adolescent therapist with a deep passion for supporting young people aged 8 to 20. I specialize in the treatment of Anxiety Disorders and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). My experience spans both individual and group therapy settings, where I have collaborated with clients from diverse backgrounds to foster their emotional, academic, and social well-being. Childhood, adolescence, and young adulthood are critical periods of development, filled with unique challenges and opportunities. My goal is to assist children, adolescents, and young adults in navigating these formative years with resilience and confidence.
In my recent role as a school counselor in Maryland, I worked closely with elementary and middle school students, their families, and academic teams to create a nurturing environment for each child's academic and social-emotional growth. Prior to being a counselor, I was in private practice where I worked with children and adolescents struggling primarily with anxiety, OCD, depression, and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) as well as designed and implemented youth skill groups. My background also includes experience with adolescents and young adults participating in inpatient and partial hospitalization programs, where I've supported teens and young adults facing challenging life events, trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, mood disorders, and more.
I am committed to providing compassionate, personalized support to help kids, teens, and young adults thrive. I value the opportunity to meet clients where they are in their journey and to help them understand and overcome challenges. I approach each therapeutic relationship with empathy, curiosity, and respect, honoring the courage it takes to seek help. Every individual is the expert of their own life and story, and I am here to listen, understand, and support them in reaching their full potential. It is a profound honor to work with my clients, and I am continually inspired by their strength, resilience, and growth.
