Hey Kids!
A little bit about me.
Hi there! My name is Alexis, and I’m a child therapist. You might be wondering, “what exactly does a therapist do?” Think of a therapist as a kind of helper — a bit like a doctor, but instead of coming to see us when you are sick, you come to us when you are feeling sad, scared, mad, or any other big feelings. We are like “feeling doctors,” helping you understand and work through your emotions.
When I’m not in therapy sessions, I love playing basketball, watching funny TV shows and movies, and hiking with my dog, Indiana (who you might even get to meet in therapy). I also love skiing and traveling to new places.
What will we do in therapy?
Before we jump in, I make sure we spend plenty of time getting to know each other. We will start by talking about things you like to do — just like how I love playing basketball or drawing. I want to learn about your favorite interests! We might play games, draw pictures, or do other fun activities that you like.
Once you feel ready, we will talk about feelings and things that might be tough, but we will always do it in a way that feels safe. My goal is to make therapy a place where you can have fun and find ways to understand and work through your feelings. I’m excited to meet you and start this journey together!
